Adam had a checkup at the ear doctor, since he has tubes in his ears, so he stayed home all Monday. When he woke up from his nap we went across the streets, where there's some huge chestnut trees and we collected some chestnuts in his little trolley.
We then made animals with them at home. All you really need is a small nail or a knitting needle to make small holes where you want legs etc and then place matches in the holes. We also used a white marker to draw eyes, stripes and dots. Super easy, but so much fun. Adam played with them all afternoon and in the morning too and he already talks about making more animals as we're 'missing a lion and a penguin'.
Last year we made THESE chestnut wreaths - which is also an easy and fun activity.
